Kheer Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 litre Milk
  • 1/2 cup Rice
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 10-12 Almonds
  • 10-12 Raisins

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Drain the water and grind the rice into a coarse powder.
  3. Boil the milk in a heavy-bottomed pan.
  4. Add the rice powder to the milk and stir well.
  5. Keep stirring continuously to prevent the kheer from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  6. When the rice is cooked and the kheer has thickened, add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well.
  7. Add chopped almonds and raisins. Mix well.
  8. Serve hot or cold, as desired.
